Is it even possible? Is he old enough? Well, he certainly thinks so! Josiah couldn't have been more excited to go to school this morning. Jason walked him over and said he was ready to go immediately. He got right into the line for his class, walked over and found his desk and was just plain ecstatic.
I am maybe not so ready. Would I ever be though? There must be something at the core of a mom that makes us need to be needed... something that loves the dependency of our kidos, even while it can be tiresome at times. I know this is just a step in the direction of his independence. And it is good and right for him to go. I am glad that it is easy for him, even if it is a little hard for me.
Ah Sweet Josiah. I am sure you will do brilliantly (as they say here in England), and well done Mom!
ReplyDeleteSounds like he's off to a good start. I remember when his father walked into kindergarten MANY years ago, he looked at me and said, "If it's all the same to you, Mom, I think I would rather go home with you." It's hard to leave a child who doesn't want to be there.
