I am amazed at the blessing of these little people in my life. They are God's mercy to me. They have rescued me from my own selfish ways: from taking for granted a moment of quiet reading with a cup of coffee, from feeling somehow entitled to a full night's restful sleep, from being so caught up in myself as to not see things from the perspective of the other. I am so grateful to know and love these little people. They teach me my own hypocracies, saying back to me what I "teach" them (to my surprise). So I say, "God is merciful to me!" Even through the tougher parts of parenthood, I see God weaving together purpose in it all. But more than just keeping me on my toes and peeling back that which is rotten in me, he rewards me with smiles and laughter, rest and renewal. He is my strength, even when I am weary. Truly, I am blessed among women.
